No, you know, I was really excited to have this conversation with you because I want to talk to you guys about how hard this [ __ ] was. Uh because this has been what, a year? About a year. A year. It's been one of the most difficult things I've had to do because controlling what goes in your mouth, it's a type of discipline uh that I think transfers over to every part of your life, including your business. You know, one of the reasons why I really wanted to do this was because I was like, I need to get more disciplined all around in my personal life and in my professional life. And it starts with me, right? Every single time. Yeah. It starts with me. But the unique part is when you came into my life, I was literally coming back from a spiritual retreat in Bali. I believe that's right. Yeah. I was coming back from a spiritual retreat in Bali. And anybody here been on a spiritual retreat before? So, you already know you come back from those bad boys and you're like, I'm going to take over the world. That's it. I'm dropping his toxic ass. All these people who were in my life not adding value, I'm letting them go. Oh, I'm watching my weight. Right. You come back high charged and powered up and then two months later you're like, wait. Right. You're kind of back into the routine of real life kicked in. Huh? Real life kicked in. Real life kicked in. And then ironically, Maris actually attended one of my workshops with Kaplan Malberry. Where he at? Kaplan and I, we hosted a session together on how to get paid to speak. You came. That was the first time I think we actually like connected. That was a little bit later actually. That was this year we connected last year. Oh, okay. Okay. We were on Clubhouse. I believe it was Clubhouse. Yes, that is where we first Who remembers clubhouse? Okay. You know what's popping back in the day and that's where you met everybody and anybody. Um, so yes, we we connected on Clubhouse. Then you came to one of my sessions and then when I came back from Bali, you hopped in my DM and what did you say? I said, "Hey, so how you doing?" And she didn't know what else he trying to kick it. You know, I go to his page. I'm like, who he with? What he doing? Yeah. She didn't know that the prayers that the focus that she had coming out of Bali rang through the airways over to me. And for some reason, I was like, I want to connect with her. I love what she's up to. And I'mma push her a little bit. I don't even know her like that, but I'm going to reach out and see if she'll create some space. And that's where our journey began. Yeah. That's where our journey began. And I was just shocked because I was like, "So Maris is a badass." Like he's like flown out around the world like people literally like kidnapped him to help with their mindset, their emotional wellness, um their health, all these things. And so I was like, "You want to help me?" Like, and he just randomly reached out to me and I was like, "Look at God like just bringing these important amazing people into my life." And I was like, "All right, that's a sign." Everybody say signs. Signs. I said, "All right, I guess I guess we going on the journey, baby. Let's go." And the journey began. She had no idea what she was up to, what it was going to be like. But she told you earlier it was far more difficult than she realized because I don't play. But that's also how she is, right? So, I have this powerful woman demonstrating and leading other women, and somehow our energies matched, but she wasn't ready for it. I'm still not ready. I'm still not ready. I'm super proud of you, though. Thank you. I'm proud of me, too. It was interesting because you would call me and have these like pep talks with me where I would literally be crying in my car and he would like just rise me to a different level. Like you were like my spiritual guide, my health coach, all the things. But you were saying exactly what I needed to hear in the moment that helped me refocus and helped me think, okay, the like remember why you're doing this. And the most beautiful thing that you said to me was like, V, I see you. I see you. I see what you are meant to achieve. Like, I see your purpose in this world. I see you. You need to get your [ __ ] together. And I was like, you're right. I do got to get my like, you're right. You're right. And um you know, I want to keep it real with you guys cuz whenever you hear someone say, "Oh, I lost this weight or I'm on this journey." So guys, first of all, I haven't had a drink in literally a year. Let's give it up for her. Let's give it up. That is real. I haven't had a drink in a year. Um 90% vegan. I did cheat here and there. I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to lie. But it has been a completely different lifestyle that I've had to adapt. And it's really hard because I like a roong, rice and beans, you know, the pork. Like culturally, many of us are raised to indulge in the tastiest foods. You know how it is. But it really isn't healthy for us at all. Right? And it's why in our communities, Alzheimer's is high, cancer is high, all these things. It really has to do with our diet. And once you get educated, that's when it really gets real because that's when you have to decide like am I gonna be stupid or am I gonna be smart, right? And it's so crazy because now when I look at food and my relationship with food, like I still have a comfort relationship with food. Like I still find comfort in food, which is something I had to challenge her with and I'm going to challenge everyone here. How many of you have or enjoy comfort food? Yeah, I know it's a very common thing. But let's think about that for just a second. If you find comfort in food, that means something's actually wrong. Because food isn't designed to comfort us. It means we're missing something that we need to go deeper into and unpack and unravel so that we get what we need in real life. And let food while it can be absolutely enjoyable, let food be fuel so you can go get those dreams, those aspirations, that big bag that you're after, those goals, those passions, have babies like Laroka, like all of those things. We've talked about this, but if food is bringing you comfort, it's the drug on the inside of it. And that's why it's hard to let go. But you've been doing good. I have, but it it's I'm still unpacking. Like I'm still unpacking like why do I find so much comfort in food? Like why is this my go-to? Like why do I want to go to necklace and chill? Why have I been trained to do this in order to find solace? Right. And you're right, it is deep, right? It's you really thinking about like why? Why? Like what is it? And is my life that whack that food is what brings me the most joy? You know, and and no shade to anybody in here cuz listen, I do my happy dance when I eat the good good, too. All right. There is an adrenaline in food. I mean, absolutely. Partly because of what they put in it cuz it's processed as [ __ ] And that's why that's why you get that high. Um, so I get it. But it's also like, you know, having the difficult conversation with why my relationship with food is what it is. And that wasn't fun. Like, it's still not fun. Like, it's still not fun because what I find that when my relationship with food has control over me, I have less control of what is going on in my life. Exactly. Exactly. she gets to miss out on all the amazingness that she is and could be experiencing. But I want to share with you. I shared it earlier, but I don't know if everyone got it. Food is drugged. It is a form of drugs. The FDA, Food and Drug Administration, they're monitoring the amount of drugs in the food. Is a real thing. And one of my mentors taught me that food is spiritual. First time he said that, I was like, you are off your rock. But he's right. And that's part of that struggle. We're engaged in this process of a spiritual process that we don't even realize is transpiring because we're consuming something we think is food, but it's not. And that begins to lead us down a path of addiction that we don't even understand. But I have good news. I have very good news. There's research that came out about 10 years ago saying that no addiction is actually real. No chemical addiction is real. Whether that's drugs, narcotics, drinking, alcohol, none of it's real. And I know you might be thinking, "Oh, but my alcoholic father or mother." Hear me out. What they found in the research was that something's missing in community, in that person's life, some aspect of community, there's a space that's missing, that's broken. And then when people finally discover what it is and they heal it, cold turkey, gone. So that mental work you're talking about, most of us aren't aware. We've been we've numbed ourselves and or we're not aware quite yet, but you're on the journey and I'm super proud of you. I'm on the journey. Let's get some tangible takeaways of our work together because I really want you guys, right? This is a secure the big bag and wellness summit. Everybody say wellness. Wellness. I know when we hear people talk about wellness, you know, some of us think it's cliche. Some of us think like we zone out and we think about somebody else. You know, it's the winter time. It's cold. I don't care. I want to cuddle with my bullet with chips on the bed and that's that, right? When we think about wellness, we sometimes don't take it as seriously as we do when we think about money or we think about legacy or we think about taking care of our family, etc. And so, I want to make sure we give you some tangible takeaways because everybody needs a Maris in their life. Everybody needs a maris in their life because that accountability and that reminder is so critical because even coming to this event stress I want to eat right. I want to eat high pressure. I want to eat. That's my peace. That's where I find solace. And so we had to have so many conver like literally every day I sent him what I'm eating. Every single morning I send him what I'm eating. I'm sending how much I'm drinking. And then he'll comment. He'd be like, "Ivy, um, you need to do this. You need to do that." Okay, what's happening? How many stools have you had today, y'all? I'm a person that's happy to use the bathroom. That's me now. Because that's an indication that my body is functioning correctly. That's right. And that's the high that you get when you actually prioritize your health. Like literally now you like he over your pool, your your stools. Like it's crazy, but it's so also liberating and it's so freeing and it's like a high, but life be lifeing. Let's keep it real. Like life be life. And that's why everybody needs a maris because it is in those moments that you need someone in your life to remind you why you doing this to remind you that they see you to remind you like it's hard but the reward is so much greater. Like you need people to remind you. So how do we start our work together? Let's start real quick because I think you started me off slow because maybe some folks need to start off slow. Yeah, I started off slow and when I jump into this PowerPoint, I'm going to break it down a lot more. You are? Okay. I am. Okay. Cuz I know for me, first of all, I never did a juice cleanse for 5 days. I never did like juices just cuz I want a juice. Like now I want juices. Like now my body is like, "Oh, let me go get a green juice out here." Like let's go get a green juice. Right now I'm a cheap date. Let me tell you something. Cheap ass date, okay? Cuz you take me to a gourmet restaurant, I'mma ask the chef to bring me some sauteed vegetables. Let's go. Let's go. Like, and it's crazy because, and I'll share this, when you're on this journey, other people will be annoyed with you. Like, they have a bigger problem with it than you. It's true. You'll be I've gone out to dinner with girlfriends and and they'll be like, "Well, why'd you come here if you're only going to eat that?" so you're not gonna drink? And I'm like, "No, I'm not." Dates, I've had dudes be like, "So, you really not gonna have a drink with me?" I'm like, "No, I'm really not." Oh, and I get it because you want to like socially that's how we have been trained that that's how we have fun. That's how we engage. That's how we build community. Let's have a drink. Let's go eat some food. So, I get it. And I guess maybe now I'm boring because you know what I'm saying? Because I'm like, "Eh, I'll take a Gumby. I'm not taking it. We interrupt our program to bring you this important message. Ooh, this is really good. You should know about this. So, I don't know about you, but I've been known to procrastinate, especially when things scare the hell out of me. The fear alone would have me stuck, overwhelmed, confused, and all types of self-doubt. And don't even get me started on the imposter syndrome. Okay. Okay. After getting laid off, not once, but three times, honey. I realized that the security blanket that I made up in my head was just an excuse because I didn't really want to bet on myself. The corporate benefits that had me in that headlock girl, huh, they went out the window once my job decided that they no longer needed me. It turns out that I'll save a whole nickel if I cut your salary completely. The truth is the only security blanket guarantee is the one that you create for yourself. In other words, until you start a business, you will always be at the mercy of a company's headcount, and you will never have complete control over your time, which means you'll be renting out your thought leadership and helping build someone else's dream instead of your own. If you've been waiting for a sign, this is it. Don't you think it's time you stop playing small and tap all the way into your powers? Click on the link above or below this video to learn my three-step process, the exact three steps that I took to make the transition from corporate to entrepreneurship. And this is helpful even if you don't know what type of business to start and have only one source of income. And this is absolutely free. It is my gift to you. I want you to win. It's winning season. In fact, what's that? It smells like winning season. Okay. So, tap in and I'll see you inside the training. Let's go. All you're really asking for is a higher elevated conversation. Right. Right. Which I appreciate very much. So, I applaud you for that. Yeah. Yeah. So, a couple things that she did early on, couple hacks before we jump into the main piece. That's my alarm. Oh, that's our time. Okay. No, that's my alarm reminding me to go get my stuff out the hotel room.

Oh, wow. Okay. I'll get that taken care of when I'm done presentation. I won't be late. Okay. So, a couple quick hacks. One of some of the things that when we take on new diet, when we take on trying healthier foods, often times we have this all ornone mentality. How many people think you're all or none? You're all in. You're either in or you out, right? That's how you function. And that's the fastest way to failure. Don't treat yourself so hard. We discussed on the panel the necessity to provide yourself with grace. If Victoria goes out and does something she knows is not a part of the plan, my phrase to her is correct and continue. If she blows breakfast, great. Correct and continue. Because if she doesn't, then she's going to blow lunch. She's going to blow dinner. She's going to blow evening snack. Now, she lost a whole day. And what we don't realize is that now she's really lost a couple of days because it has to work through her system. So, a couple quick hacks for you own breakfast. Start your day not with ham and eggs and cheese. Bacon. What's that? Bacon. Bacon. Bacon. Egg. Start your day with things that are fresh. You're waking up from a fast. Your body slept all night. You were fasting, not eating. Wake up in the morning. Start with a fresh glass of water with perhaps some lemon, maybe a little cayenne pepper. Just start there. What you're doing is you're awakening your body, helping your digestive system work with you, not against you. And what you'll find is when you start that way, it'll automatically start to curve some of the appetite that you typically have. Then grab yourself some fresh fruit. Why? Because it's living. You are an electrical living being. It is the best way to start your morning by providing your body with nutrients. And then if you decide you're going to have some other things. Okay, I got it. At lunchtime, how many of you have sit down jobs? Wave at me real quick. Wave at me real quick. Okay, couple quick hacks. If you have a sitdown job, that means you're not using physical energy. That means you don't need a big old giant smorgesborg at lunchtime because you're not moving your body at all. So it just sits there and you're wondering why you're tired in the afternoon or all of a sudden where this weight came from. It's because you consume overconumed calories, food, substance at lunchtime when you are stable and unfortunately not helping your body digest that then work that then works against you. The last element that I'll give is start to drink more water. I'm going to give you some details on how to do that, some tips, but your body is anywhere between 75 to 90% water. And if you're not replacing it through foods that are waterbased and or water, you're making it that much more harder on yourself. You're making it that much more harder for your body to function. And if you just take those three tips, own breakfast, own lunch, increase your water, I guarantee you within a week, you'll start to feel just a little bit better. I love that. And my tangible takeaway is outside of finding somebody like Maris um is to be vulnerable in this process because you're going to learn that your relationship with food is not only a deeper indication that something else is off in your life. Uh but it also is a realization that you are the problem. And that's a hard pill to swallow, right? Especially if you're a badass at work and you doing your thing, you pay your mortgage, you got your kids, like everything else is in place. You have everything else in place, but your temple, your body, your mind, your soul is unbalanced. You will in the quiet moments always feel unfulfilled. You will always feel lost. You will always feel out of place. You will always feel like you have to wear a mask when you walk into spaces. You know, nobody's going to see that side of you cuz that's the side that comes out when you home alone, when you looking at yourself in the bed or when you taking a shower or when you trying to put on those pants that fit you two months ago and they don't fit you no more. That's when it really comes true and that's when it really hits home. So, the tangible is be vulnerable in this process because that is the only way that you're going to actually get transformation is when you like keep it real with yourself. Like we've had conversations about like my dating life, about all he gonna find me a husband someday. Like all the things. Listen, I'm in. I'm in. She's amazing and I'm a part of her tribe. Yes. Because it trickles over. But now I'm going to I'm going to let the stage be yours, darling, because I know you got to check out and do all the things. But I I wanted to share this personal side of me with you all to let you know that you're not alone on this journey. And wellness is a community effort if you allow it to be. And it's easier when you're doing it in community than when you're doing it on your own. So find the community. Sign up for a 5K. Yes. I'm trying to get her to do that. What? Like find a community that is going to go to dinner with you and you're all going to order vegetables because it's easier. You know what I'm saying? It's easier. But that's going to really help you. All right, the floor is yours, my love. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Let's give it up for Victoria Jenn once again. Thank you. I'm super proud of you. Thank you. And it's just beginning. Yes. I promise you at the eighth, y'all ain't even going to recognize her. She's going to be a whole other person. All right, let's dive in. I have a short window of time and I want to talk about some wellness hacks for you busy entrepreneurs. So, let's play. I'm g move really quickly because we have a lot to cover yet. Let's dive in. You must fix your web. You must fix your web and how you see others to maximize you. You must fix your web and how you see others to maximize you. I may not get to the you, but I'll touch on it before we get out of here. But I want to start with a web. A web is something that we all know is affiliated with spiders. But there are certain things about a web that we forget other than, "Oh my god, why was that spider there?" And we're caught up in its web, and we're frustrated with it. To a spider, its web, it's not only a place to capture prey so that it can eat and nurture itself. It's also a space where it finds home and protection. It's his foundation. It's his source. But you also have a web. There's a baseline to who you are. That is your home. That is your foundation from which everything else emanates. I want to touch on the web really quickly as it relates to us as humans. The first one is water. A water aqua. Now, I know when I say water, many of us get frustrated and we think, "I don't really like water." Here's the thing. You're a grown ass adult. It doesn't matter if you don't like water. You know you need it. just like you go to work. But I'm going to break down some of the impacts and give you a couple of hacks on how you can manage your water a little bit better. I need you to know that 76% of our of our population is chronically dehydrated. That means the majority of us aren't drinking water. So, it's easy not to drink water. But here are some of the issues that come along with that. Kidney issues, UTI, don't wave, muscle cramping, waking up in the morning with that lower back stiffness, loss of consciousness. I literally have a friend who lives in Miami. She literally had to be rushed to the emergency because she didn't realize she went too many days without water. Quick question, shout it back to me. How many days can you go without having water before you probably die? Seven. Seven. Three. We'll go with five. That means it's probably pretty important. Wouldn't you agree? Yeah. Okay. Migraines, headaches, hear about it all the time. So, we start popping pills, which even dehydrates us further. Dizziness, droopy skin. You want to get rid of that excess flap. Your largest organ is your skin. It needs water to hydrate. Us black folk know all about lotion and not being ashy. But the reason we need all this excessive lotion and things is because we're not hydrating from within.

Dandruff. Yeah. Something real practical. You got those flakes. That's cuz your body's excreting waste through your scalp because you're not hydrated. Excessive ear wax. Oh, and this one. Hello. Sexual malfunctioning. Just because we're not getting enough water. That's why you're dry. That's why you can't get it up and keep it up. because there's not enough fluid in your body to do so, but we're expected to perform and memory loss. Those are just some of the negative things. But let's talk about some of the impact as a result of those things. Like this is all technical. We get it. But let's make it real further. What about your business? You end up being lethargic. How many of you know as business owners being lethargic probably isn't the way to go, right? You won't put the extra time in that you need to cuz you need a nap. You'll have stiff back in the morning when you don't want to get out of bed. I got five minutes to finish this up. This is going to be so much fun. I promise. Lack of lack of desire to work out. Here's some other ones. What do you find yourself as a result and how it impacts your business? Here are a couple tips, couple hacks to start increasing your water. Sip. Sip it like your favorite drink. Stop guzzling. When you guzzle water, you're not a plant. You don't have a pot to hold it to absorb it. When you gzle water, it comes right out. But when you sip it like your favorite drink, you give your cells the opportunity to absorb it. So my hack for sipping water is sip about 3 to four ounces every 15 to 20 minutes. You'll find you won't be in the restroom as often. Your body will begin to absorb it and you'll start to feel refreshed because water not only hydrates, but it has oxygen in it, which helps you feel alive and gets rid of brain fog. Flavor your water. Throw some lemon in it. Throw some mint leaves in it. Bless your water. Speak to it. There's research that shows when we speak over our water, it literally brings in toxins or removes them. So, start to speak life and said, "I hate drinking water." Start to bless it. Thank you, God. This water's helping me. And your body will begin to open and receive it. You'll be shocked. And then I got a water supplement coming out. Keep your eyes open. It's coming soon. It's called Foopa water. Yeah, your fa. healing. It's got minerals and nutrients in it to help shrink that down and help control uh stubborn and visceral fat so that you can heal and keep going. Let's jump into food really quick. Eating is what that the other part of the web. 73% of us are overweight or obese. Don't wave at me. We already know how this goes. And I need to remind you that because you're skinny doesn't mean you're healthy. Let's be clear about that. Couple things. Cardiovascular disease, type two diabetes, cancer, mental illness. All these things are a result of food. How does that impact your business? Let's take a look. You're uncomfortable in your clothes. So therefore, you start walking around imposter syndrome. You start to look, you look unsuccessful. So when you're around people who are looking at you, they're thinking, I don't know if I want to do business with them. They're not disciplining their body. So hello. You overflex your ego to compensate. That impacts business. Short-temperedness. You short with your employees. Airplane seats begin to get uncomfortable. These are some of the things that are a result of not watching and taking care of your diet and you're falling asleep too early, which kills your ability to go accomplish your dreams and your goals. And all that wealth that you've been storing up, it's not going to the generations after you because you're going to need medical care. You're going to need someone to take care of you at home or in a nursing home, which can go 70,000 to $120,000 a month, leaving you faster than you made it. All these things are a result of that. Couple hacks. Eat more fresh foods. I talked about that with Victoria on stage a moment ago. Own your breakfast. Eat lighter but healthier. Victoria talked about stomach moving and hurting. That is not a sign that you're hungry. We've been lied to. That's just our stomach shifting. That's all that it is. A growling stomach doesn't mean you're hungry. It just means it's shifting. And significantly decrease the amount of meat you consume. You will automatically find that your digestive system begins to work better and your hormonal system begins to balance out a lot smoother and more consistently. Bathing. Taking the time to breathe is a big deal. And I don't mean what you're doing right now. I mean like we did doing sound healing. How many of you felt a difference doing sound healing earlier? Yeah, we've got to take more time to intentionally breathe that way because oxygen circulating through our body assists us increased stress when we're not mental fogging and sleeping at the wrong time. All of these things are a result of not taking the time to breathe deeply on a daily basis. Oh, that one right there, the last one, disconnection from God. The corporate benefits that had me in that headlock, girl, huh, they went out the window once my job decided that they no longer needed me. Okay, so tap in and I'll see you inside the training. Let's go. I don't have time to get into it right now, but there's research that's already proven to us that when you're not taking deep breaths, it automatically shortcircuits your ability to connect with God. Oh, by the way, that also goes along with water because water is a conductor of electricity and God being frequency, if you are dehydrated, it makes it more difficult to connect. I know that sounds crazy, but how many of you have ever fasted for religious purposes? Wave at me. Wave. Wave me. You feel close to God during that time, don't you? The reason you do is because your system is clean. So why not live a fasted life like the three Hebrew boys did. Live a fasted life so that you have access to source to live and move throughout the day. As entrepreneurs, a lot of what we do is intuitive and we need to be able to tap in so we can make those decisions know to who say who to say yes to, who to say no to, and what moves to make. So, there's all these reasons that support your necessity to really take your wellness into consideration because it has a direct impact on how you flow. Last but not least, I want to give you a couple things before I wrap up. You might be good in business right now. You might be killing it. You might already had a big bag, but I promise you, until you get your health right, until you fix your foundation, until you repair your web, you're a fraction of what God intended for you. There's so much more. But when you don't focus on you as the number one priority, you focus outward, you can only get a piece of it. Fix your web. On the screen right now, I've got a free meal plan. Go ahead and grab that barcode. It give you access to me and my website, but also a free meal plan. It's a week plan that'll give you water, some suggestions for how to have water, some suggestions for food. It's my gift to you. It's also your way to reach me at maris. us, my website, to get some information and whatever it is you need. Maybe I can come speak at your corporation and add more value there. My mission in life, my purpose, my sole purpose, why I do what I do, why I sought out Victoria is because I know without a shadow of a doubt that I am on the planet to help people discover how amazing you already are. There's so many lies. That's why the food is toxic. There's so many lies. That's why we get consumed in media. But who you are is a necessity. And when you're whole, when you're fully functioning, not only do you feel better, you then become better for the people that you love. And then you become a resource. Instead of looking for someone to give to you, you have the ability to give. And when you have the ability to give, it restores and helps someone else so they get stronger. Like Victoria talked about a wellness community. And when I'm feeling better, then I have the ability to give to you. And so this chase that we've been told we need vanishes. That again gives us the opportunity to become our own community and our own resource. My name is Maris Martin Hayes. It has been my pleasure to serve you. Thank you.
